Explanation of the difference in detectability of blood versus urine

The blood sample allows for qualitative and quantitative determination of substances and conclusions about current impairment of brain functions.

In other words, what was the dosage at the relevant time?

Note: Substances below the effective range remain detectable in the body for many hours and can therefore be detected in the blood using sensitive methods.

The urine sample only allows information about the consumption of drugs and/or medications, but not about the time and amount of the last consumption.

Saliva Test

A substance can be detected in saliva just minutes after ingestion. Despite its proven inaccuracy, saliva testing is still used in some cantons today.
