Outpatient and inpatient treatment

Psychotherapeutic Treatment:

In psychotherapy, current problems as well as long-standing burdens are discussed. Treatment can be short-term or longer-term. Often, the focus is on recurring patterns of behavior in everyday life, such as loss of control or impulses to consume.

Social work support:

Concrete help with problems related to work, teaching or school situations, as well as support in cases of debt or unemployment, can relieve you.

Medication Treatment:

There are medications with specific effects for some substance abuse problems (cocaine, heroin, and alcohol). However, treating accompanying illnesses can also be beneficial in cases of substance abuse problems.

Who covers the costs?

Many counseling centers (non-medical, focusing on social problems) are free. The assessment and treatment of substance use problems at a medically oriented center is
covered by basic health insurance. If you wish to have the assessment anonymously, this is usually possible. Ask about a self-pay option. Professionals are bound by confidentiality and may not disclose any information to third parties without your explicit consent.

Information on counseling and therapy centers:

Online counseling services
are increasingly available today. These can help reduce or stabilize substance use and also offer advice on other issues. The major advantages are low-threshold access (free 24/7) and location independence.
