The online tool "Substance Warnings" is managed by Infodrog, the Swiss Coordination and Expertise Center for Addiction. It collects information on psychoactive substances that are overdosed, contain unexpected or dangerous substances, or are adulterated. The data comes from the drug-checking services Saferparty Streetwork of the City of Zurich (saferparty.ch), the Addiction Support Center Basel (Safer Dance Basel), Nuit Blanche? from Geneva, and the Contact Foundation for Addiction Support Bern (CONTACT Nightlife), which offer substance analysis at parties and in specialized information and counseling centers.
The idea and concept for the online tool were developed in 2011 by a working group consisting of institutions active in the field of prevention and harm reduction for recreational drug users. The working group included: Saferparty Streetwork (City of Zurich), Rave it Safe (Contact Foundation for Addiction Support, Bern), danno (Radix Svizzera italiana, Lugano), and Nuit Blanche? (Première Ligne, Geneva), trans-AT (Fondation Addiction Jura, Delémont, Porrentruy), Nightlife Working Group (Swiss Association for Addiction), Nightlife Platform (GREA).
